Interviews With Monster Girls is actually

Thursday, December 1st, 2016

Demi-chan wa Kataritai anime? Why, I would’ve never guessed. From the headlines, I thought it was some kind of knock-off for Everyday Life With Monster Girls. The English title was apparently invented in the bowels of Kodansha.

The Demi-chan manga is rather cute, mostly. The detectives were terrible, and I do not care for the idea of a dullahan in this application, but yuki-onna and the vampire compensate, and omg dat succubus! Also, the tension of the forbidden harem is so juicy. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be a decent ending planned. But then it’s common in mangas.

Production is by A-1. The broadcast is set for Winter cour.

Chinese Subs

One weird thing about the Chinese subs is that they have a normal video spot for sponsor messages (it’s where Japanese usually put Bushiroad or Kadokawa logo), but there’s nothing there — clean video. I cannot help but ask if the Chinese pirates steal transport streams before they reach broadcast stations.

Demi-chan begins

Okay, a quick opener here.

1. Everyone go read Evirus. (spoilers: “To me, it is openly racist to presume dullahans are presumptively inadequate or compromised compared to humans.”

2. That said, I think a dullahan is a poorly thought-out concept that requires too much magic to function – Macchi breaths and eats by exactly what means?

3. Sakie-chan is BEST GIRL. Hikari is the harem lead.

4. I’ve read the manga and I really didn’t like the detectives. I’ll do my best not to drop the anime when they inevitably appear.

Nice harem, but dullahans are a dumb concept, there’s no good way around it. Sakie-chan is the BEST GIRL. She needs her own anime. A shoujo, maybe!

Here’s the famous painting they were referencing:

As you can see, it’s not even a dullahan.
