In his posting about the trailer for the second installment of ef, Kuro asks:

P.S. I wonder what happened to Author? He’s the biggest ef fan I know, and he’s barely mentioning this.

I was busy with stuff, but in any case, I am generally sceptical about extensions. I know that fans eat it up, but that's just how I am. I am extremely happy that there's no Haibane Renmei: The Second Circle, or Azumanga in College.

A few sequels are known to exceed their predecessors, e.g. Banner of The Stars (sorry, Evirus), Nanoha A. But for each of them there's a dozen of To Heart: Remember My Memories and Tenshi no Shippo Chuu, creators of which simply decided to trample the good name of the originals into the dirt.

Also, Mizuki counterbalancing Yuuko? I am unconvinced.
