I remember looking down at the silly people who were unable to appreciate ef, because they were damaged by that Adam Sandler movie. But of course our previous experiences color our perceptions. Now when I see Florence Ambrose dealing with a memory condition, I cannot help seeing parallels. Primarily, I am interested to see how she copes. She is miles ahead of Chihiro, being a fully formed individual, and graduated from an engineering school. But Chihiro had 13 hours at her disposal, and Flo only gets a few minutes, which evens the playing field a little.
