Naruto 53 is another of my favourites together with 22 and 80. There's a lot more going for it in addition to the above, such as Ero-sennin's deceptive mentorship style. We don't see anything like it until Milch of Nodame takes it to the next level (actually, Tanioka-sensei was first to manipulate Chiyaki into "upperclassman teaching", but you know what I mean).
