According to ANN (via John -- surprisingly, I don't follow ANN):
The February issue of Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine is announcing next Wednesday that a live-action film adaptation of Karuho Shiina's Kimi ni Todoke [award-winning] manga has been green-lit.
It's a good news, if they do a good job, of course. The source seems to be promising. But a live action of an unfinished manga? Someone is desperate for revenue, methinks.
BTW, the anime was praised for bringing authentic shoujo aesthetics to anime media. This is hardly possibly for LA.
