Must pay attention after considering it previously, although of course having no time to sample the series on my own I just rely on BRWs.
The narrator in general I could definitely do without. [...] It’s about as well-animated as you’d expect from JC Staff. The action was unexpected, but competent… but there are plenty of places where it’s clear that they cut corners on animating other things. [...] It was a decent first episode, but nothing that really blew me away. The music was nice, the Cinderella kicking joke at the end was funny, but the first half was the epitome of a clumsy and awkward introduction. Once that was out of the way, it seemed like a nice and decent little show.
An adaptation of a popular light novel series [...] It’s not hard-hitting, original or ambitious, but if you’re like me and enjoy a healthy dose of cliche anime fun, one thing Ookami-san IS is entertaining. The excellent production qualities give Ookami-san a big lead on its competitors in this comedy-romance genre, and this quality can be seen in every category of the anime. [...] The inclusion of a narrator (played by the unique Satomi Arai) who actually comments on the goings-on of the episode, occasionally poking fun at things or stirring up the characters, is pretty unusual. I can’t really think of any other anime that’s done it! The characters themselves sometimes even react to the narrator’s commentary! This lightens the mood and makes the episode more fun and casual.
He also has this:

Pretty mediocre beginning episode though, since there was too many characters but too little focus on any of them except for Ookami and Morino. The gags are kinda “Angel Beats!”-level random too, and I had a few great laughs such as during the cranium kick landing scene. Ookami’s Neko Punch is pretty lol too. // The whole fairytale parody concept merits some good laughs though and with Kuroko Narrator-san being so bloody awesome, I am willing to give this a few more weeks to try.
UPDATE: Nova adds:
The basic premise is as follows: a weak, cowardly guy likes a tough and violent girl. The good old formula from the days of Love Hina. That’s not where the nostalgia trip ends either because directing Ookami-san is none else than Iwasaki Yoshiaki himself, the director of Love Hina TV and the OVAs.
UPDATE 2: Evirus:
First, I fully expect Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi to be a J.C. Staff layup. It's got Yui Horie sweetness and, oh yeah, THE AYAKO DOCTRINE going for it at least. And the scenario seems interesting enough. As long as they don't Index it up, it should be okay.
Also, "Tall Taiga has legs that go up to her neck". OK, see Washi's picture above.
Even CKS is caught into the excitement. He is positive. I did not realize that fansubs were out so quickly. What times we live in!
UPDATE 3: Zyl wants to gattai in joy:
While I have explained above why I think comparisons with Taiga are unwarranted, I cannot help but cry tears of BRODOM [at seeing Evirus' quote]. I am just helplessly in with love everything about Ryoko’s character design and it is pure joy, PURE JOY to see someone else with whom I feel who shares many of my likes and dislikes and suffered through the dark moments (e.g. Lunamaria kissing Shinn) to say something that was on my mind through the whole episode and to unleash the fanboy in me.
