First, Steven pronounced a disappointment:
Angel Beats was a show which started out intriguing but soon lost my interest. [...] I've been downloading episodes as the show has gone along, just in case the ending turned out to be awesome, so that I could mainline the show if need be. Now it looks as if I won't be needing them. The show ending pretty much completely wasted the potential.
Then, in what I can only assume was a reply, Pixy vented:
Angel Beats is... Not even worth ranting about. The show only avoids being terrible by not having enough substance to be anything at all. I don't think any of that supposed potential was actually there - rather just an illusion of potential. It's pretty clear that no-one involved in the project had any concept of how to construct or tell a story, or how to draw faces or to animate, well, anything at all.
Ouch.
UPDATE: Pixy says it was Wonderduck who prompted the reaction.
But Angel Beats is one of the very few shows that I've seen that screams for more episodes. Thirteen just wasn't enough for a story that was potentially deep, and as a result it came across as... well, shallow.
MEGA UPDATE: Pixy is going to love Tappan's Spoiling Notes (e.g. "How old is Kanade?").
