The question after episode one is whether we’re just going to watch Tomoko go and fail every episode (no fun to watch) or will she somehow make friends (like all those other shows, therefore boring)?
I don't necessarily agree with Peter's built-in assumptions, but anyhow, at 44 chapters of manga creators seem to take the following gambit: classmates recognize Tomoko and remember things about her, but she's not cognizant of it, not sufficiently anyway. The strategy of manga is that of endless delay and dragging out the resolution, while feeding us funny skits.
