It's old, it's mecha, and it's great. The Patlabor OVA is what anime is meant to be. The only problem is, it's episodic, but even Sun has spots.

Kanuka turned out not to be evil. She seems like a type that modern anime has lost: the girl who is too capable for her station. Collegues think that she's out of control, blind fools. In fact, all characters appear typified, but only to an extent. It does not hurt them. Noa probably is the most recognizeable; reminds me of Haruka from early Xenoglossia. Shinobu is an ojou, lovely beyond words. Men do a good job too.
