I finally got around to reading Owen's Itazura na Kiss round-up. He reminded me that it was noticeable in the reactions how feminist brainwashing pressed on minds of some (in particular Jen's screed had way more seething than what Owen quoted in the round-up). As for not taking anime seriously, I disagree. Many series are designed to be taken seriously. Sure, you can watch Azumanga "for the lulz", but then you miss a lot. And for items such as RahXephon and 08th MS Team it's downright silly.
