Although I stopped after 06, I was aware of 08, and planned to buy it when stars align right. The only problem was, I ran out of BOST points, they only sold points in blocks, and I didn't want on principle to have a few bucks wasted. The result was a stalemate between my greed and lust.
However, now that I buy anime from Crunchyroll anyway, I remembered about the little unfinished business with Strike Witches and grabbed the 08.
I am a bit disappointed. Not enough of singing Minna, only a short fragment. Otherwise, probably the best Strike Witches episode.
QUICKIE: I considered writing a bit of a more extensive summary, nonspoiling, but why bother when Steven is on the ball:
The dog fight in it is one of the best in the series, and they animated it very well. That was the first time we got to see Perrine use her magical attack, which was cool. And I think it was the first battle we saw where Miyafuji was treated as a full member of the team, and did her job and did it well. In particular, her gunnery was excellent.
Quite so.
On second thought, I think Yoshika wasted too much ammo on saddling up because she failed to take the correct deflection. This is especially not excellent because she's one only two witches who carry A2A sights on their guns, even if of rudimentary ring-bead variety. But victors aren't judged, and she did hit the core in the final reckoning.
