Sage on CANAAN

The half-dead blogger woke up to pan CANAAN. Apparently, after good couple of episodes, someone "became so batshit insane because of her unrequited lesbian crush that it was just too creepy", the protagonist and the titular character was "the most bland and uninteresting ... in the whole show", and the antagonist "shared the same flaws as Canaan and [added] the cliched self-nihilistic attitude". Also:

Liked: At first.
Rewatch: Hell no.

I know who he's mocking.

The schtick about the rewatch grew out of realization that as long as you watch only once, there's no need to buy (no matter DVDs or DTOs). Thus the rewatch factor indicates if spending money on the ownership is advisable.

UPDATE: Evirus offers a contrary opinion:

In related news, Canaan turned out to be quite better than its early episodes suggested. It's not a fantastic series by my reckoning, but it is much better than jaded anime fans give it credit for. Moreover, the production values throughout remained impeccable — notable nowadays since more studios and series seem financially strapped.

It's like reading about Natsu no Arashi again.

UPDATE:

<Aroduc> Yeah, I really don't regret skipping out on Canaan from everything I've heard.
