Moogy on the 2009 Autumn halfway

Our master troller and famous editor of game translations continues to apply expletives better than Cunningham ever done. Agree or disagree, it's worth a smirk at least — when reading the whole thing. But I'm going to ruin the fun and rip quotes.

Kiddy Girl-and – Honestly, I’m not quite sure what to think of this show just yet. It has excellent production values, wonderful designs, and very cute girls. On the other hand, it’s by the weirdos who made Kiddy Grade and the plot will probably end up being something very strange indeed. ... Also, really, who doesn’t want to be kissed by a loli?

Well, a chu~ on the cheek perhaps, as she unpacks her birthday presents... I'm afraid this kind of advocacy might create a misleading impressions about the show. I heard that in neigther case the title had anything with the content.

Seitokai no Ichizon – Pretty much living up to what I expected out of it after the first episode. Sugisaki’s a great guy, everything flows nice and smooth, and there’s even some interesting writing to top things off.

I honestly wanted to give Ichizon a chance, but it's just not working. It's a big hit with the hardcore otaku demographic though.

Sora no Otoshimono – Absolute fucking proof that you should never judge a show by its premise or even by its first episode. Going by the opening episode alone, SoraOto is nothing more than pandering dreck, exploitative fanservice, and other epithets that ANN staffers enjoy applying to shows [He forgot Jessi/Belinda and such — ed.]. However, those who gave the series another chance found themselves watching one of the most inventive and spunky shows of the season – and, in my opinion, of the entire year. ... every single shot looks absolutely gorgeous. The art direction in general is absolutely fantastic. ... this show is funny, engrossing, and generally just an extremely well-done production in every area.

Duly noted. It's not like I believe a word that Moogy types, but yes, it's something to see, and certainly for more than 1 episode.

Nyankoi – Another show where I hated the first episode, but ended up really enjoying the rest of it. ... Perhaps not something extremely memorable, but it’s an enjoyable and frequently quite cute romantic comedy.

Again the 1st episode thing! Why do they keep doing this? It reminds me of Arashi most of all, where I loved the first episode enough to give it a good try, only be presented with Diet Grave of Fireflies.

Railgun – This show is QUALITY garbage. QUALITY filler garbage, at that. Good fucking job, J.C. Staff, you fucking managed to make this just as fucking bad as fucking Index, if not fucking worse.

Now he's just trolling. Truth to be told, I heard such an opinion, and the grumbling about the fillers, but hey... if Railgun makes Sixten happy, it's all right.

One of the big lessions about the blogging opinions is how one must use a sieve carefuly to separate the actual facts from impression. For example, Nova called Kampfer "tasteless". Way to post useless bytes! He also put its characters into the "cons" column: surely that's data? Or is it? Why are they there? Unrealistic? Unpleasant? Not heroic enough? Moogy at least tries to zoom at what he sees as the key data point (not that I agree with his ideas about Kampfer).
