1. Althouse on blog comments

Even among political bloggers the issue apparently is still controversial. In fact, Althouse peddles the old canard that "it's harder to make gullible NYT readers buy [Krugman's interpretation of Weitzman] when the comments are ruthlessly poking holes in it." Instapundit gives her due, politely:

Well, I’d be the last …

In comments at Chizumatic, Avatar approves of Taiga's victory in 2009 thus:

This is good. I'd have despaired for the world if Yui had won.

Taiga's a good refinement of the character concept - not quite a full-on Louise, and the violence (rarely directed at Ryuji, who is more than a …

  3. Don confused me

Brawing the offensively annoying pop-out photothingie, I examined Don's screencap of Nano, then failed to understand what tickled his bone of elitist outrage. In the accompaining text he mentions QB (in its second season), which is only mentioned in the screencap two times.

Every time someone criticizes his "smug sense of self-importance", I nod approvingly.

That said, look at my blogging about ef (or actually its first half). I didn't mind SHAFTisms at all in it. And Yunocci's delirium in Hidamari 04 was a surrealistic tour de force. Everything has its place. Problems …

The post at O.M. claims a "strong fear" of being "ridiculed", and doubts "if any anime nerd will ever be able to completely rid themselves of these feelings".

I don't know where he works, but in my company nobody can be fazed by anime. And even if they were …

Apparently the new OS-tan is being defined officially. She's very cute and pleasant, yet somehow professional and sterile. Previous OS-tans were in a large part defined by their quirks. Clumsy ME, volumnous XP... My favourite was the veteran 95. But given she's official, 7-tan does not have a defining personality …

I didn't know that Otakumex was reincarnated, to be run this weekend (September 25). The con last year was supposed to be a one-off, set up by a travelling group of professional promoters. The domain otakumex.com was backed up by a real website last year, but now it redirects …

A few commenters claimed that blogrolls were useless, but I still remember how invaluable they were for me when I ramped up on my reading, so I keep mine up as a kind of a public service to new readers. If such function is assumed as primary, the blogroll has …
